Jinn are real creations of Allah mentioned throughout the Quran. Allah created them from smokeless fire, just as He created humans from clay. Among the jinn are both believers and disbelievers. Like humans, they are accountable to Allah and will be judged on the Day of Resurrection.
Islam teaches believers to seek Allah's protection from the harmful whispers of Shaytan and from any harm caused by evil jinn, while placing complete trust in Allah alone. The Quran and authentic Sunnah provide powerful means of seeking Allah's protection through sincere worship, remembrance (dhikr), and supplication (dua).
This guide shares authentic Quranic ayahs and duas for protection from jinn, along with their Arabic text, transliteration, English translation, and guidance on how to recite them.
Understanding Jinn in Islam
Allah says that He created jinn and mankind to worship Him. While many jinn are righteous believers, others are disbelievers who may seek to mislead people through whispering and other forms of harm by Allah's permission. Muslims are instructed to seek refuge in Allah from all evil and to strengthen their faith through prayer, Quran recitation, and remembrance of Allah.
Rather than living in fear of the unseen, Islam teaches believers to rely upon Allah, maintain strong faith, and follow the guidance of the Quran and Sunnah.
